Objectives
1. Audiology Awareness and Regulatory compliance at the workplace To implement hearing conservation programmes in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (1993) for employees exposed to noise levels equal to or greater than 85 dBA over an 8-hour period.
2. Primary Public Health Preventative measures To educate employees on hearing loss, its cause, impact and treatment options. |
1. Secondary Public Health Preventative Measures To advocate and facilitate for early identification of hearing loss among at risk employees (e.g. mine workers etc.). To advocate for hearing loss treatment for those diagnosed with hearing loss.
2. Access to audiology services including management To improve access to hearing loss management through facilitating of hearing aid adoption and innovative funding models. |
